Role of Jesus Christ

Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ.

-- Ether 2:12

March 3, 2002

No, we do not mention Jesus Christ as part of the official documentation at Remnant Saints International Patriot Alliance nor at Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress. We allow all men the privilege of believing how they will so long as they do not infringe on the rights of others.

If government becomes the instrument of enforcing one religious philosophy, that is counter to the most wonderful gift God has given us, even greater than the gift of salvation -- the right to choose.

He will force no man to heaven.

Praise the Lord for that. Anyone in heaven is there because they choose to accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ -- not because it was forced upon them.

If you go and visit the private websites of the members involved in RSIPA and RSICC, you will find ample mention of Jesus Christ as a fulcrum factor in their personal lives.

e.g. my website
http://www.greaterthings.com
features a painting of the Savior front and center at the top of the home page.

The Crusades were a great evil. Would you have a repeat of that?

Church and State are to be like husband and wife: two separate entities, yet united. The government plays the role of protector, and the church plays the role of nurturer. It is the church where one is to go to learn of Jesus and his saving grace.

Nevertheless, in the government we propose, government officials are free individually to make reference to their religious belief and to promote morality based on religious grounds. However, they may not use the enforcement power of their office to favor or hinder one religion over another.
