Tithe of a TitheClick here to Commit to "Tithe of a Tithe" Motion:From: "Sterling D. Allan, facilitator" <sterling.d.allan@rsicc.org > I move that we require a tithe of a tithe as a financial commitment for all members of RSICC. The motion implies an amendment to the earlier motion made by myself that the tithe of a tithe also include time and talents. The current motion would limit it to a financial commitment. We already have wording in place regarding a level of activity for active members and honorary members. That should remain the same. If we are to survive and eventually thrive as an organization, we need at least this much help from each and every member. It would make a much needed difference right now. We could change it later, up or down. So the amended ballot regarding a tithe of a tithe would read: "Membership in RSICC shall require a commitment to help financially by contributing at least a tithe of a tithe of one's net income. This shall be a matter of honor and not of oversight. Each member shall give their word to help out in this way, and they shall be individually responsible for keeping their word. An accounting by giving one's word that they are fulfilling this commitment, shall be renewed each six months." If a person has no income, they pay nothing. If they are going into debt, they owe nothing, and may actually appeal to RSICC to help financially if their debt if freedom-related. Those who are not the primary breadwinner are left to exercise their conscience as to how they will fulfill this commitment, considering such things as level of spouse support for RSICC, etc. This motion needs a second, and will be followed by discussion for at least 48 hours (because of weekend) prior to being brought to a vote.
