Telephone Approach for RSICC Fund RaiserHere are some samples of what you might say Hello, may I speak with __[Name in phone book]__ Hi, I'm __[Name]__ from __[Your city/town]__. We're doing a fund raiser for Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress. The purpose of the organization is to present a godly alternative to the United Nations. We feel there ought to be a world body, but that it should have the same kind of restraints that the Constitution of the United States prescribes -- checks and balances, limitations of power, elected representation, a Bill of Rights type of document, and a reliance on individual responsibility rather than government to take care of most matters. While the United Nations has some of these elements, it tends to be far too Socialistic -- calling on the enforcing power of government to do things that we ought to do voluntarily, of our own free will and choice. We are pulling together a series of constitutional documents and a coalition of support designed to preserve freedom for all mankind, giving the world the kinds of freedoms that the United States has enjoyed. We know of no other organization that presents a freedom-based alternative to the United Nations. Today we're looking for small donations -- 5, 25, 75 dollars -- to help this cause grow. [At this point, pause to give them an opportunity to respond.] If they are interested, make arrangements to either (1) have them send a check to your address, made out to Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress; (2) go to their home to collect their cash/check donation; (3) refer them to the website where they will find donor and contact information. This last option is not preferable because the person is less likely to follow through if you are not involved in the collecting of the donation; the accountability for their commitment is diminished.
