Subject: Consecration -- Our Answer to Socialism
[Cc: all guild nominees]
As guild treasurer, one of the sacred responsibilities I see you having has to do with instructing
in the principles of free-will consecration and facilitating the administration of consecrated
I do not believe that the typical LDS-taught model is ideal. It is too much like "follow the

We're here to support you.
I'm astonished as how strongly I feel as I write this to you. There is a feeling of deep destiny.
God bless you, Doug, as you carry out this responsibility in concert with many many other
individuals who will both instruct and assist you.
Most of all, be humble as you press forward in this. Pride is an antithesis attribute of those who
do the work of the Lord, which this is.
Sincerely, your brother in Christ,
Sterling D. Allan
