Up against strong delusion

Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress
NEWSLETTER
Volume 1 Number 4
January 29, 2002

One thing I am finding in this effort to take proactive initiative toward voluntarily establishing an alternative government based on sound principles is that there is nearly no demand for this. Most Constitutionalists know our world is in an awful state. They know that liberty hangs in the balance. But to them there are only two solutions: (1) to do the best we can to hold back the trend toward greater loss of freedom, (2) to wait for God to come and set things straight after everything has fallen apart.

A third viable and ennobling alternative just simply does not occur to them: (3) to begin implementing now an alternative form of government that is based on immutable principles of freedom inspired of heaven but plain in any court room, which for the time being can begin to provide an answer to what ails the world, and, in the case of the current system falling apart, can be there for the people to rally to, to pick up the pieces.

The icons of their respect have not promoted such an alternative. Many view such an attempt as flying in the face of faith in God, even though this movement is motivated by faith in God. Others shun the movement as appearing like just another attempt at some headstrong person seeking a following to mislead.

We are not just dealing with mild hard-headedness here. What we are up against is nothing less than strong delusion. And I use that phrase purposely, drawing from Isaiah 66 and II Thessalonians 2, which are sister prophecies speaking of our day. God basically says, "After striving with you for so long, you refuse to do things my way, so I say to you, 'Fine, do it your way, and you will see what a mess will come of it. Furthermore, you will even think that your way is my will.'"

When God sends strong delusion, that they will believe a lie, He does a good job of it.

Whether or not our movement is indeed a prophesied answer (which I believe it is), we have to look at that prophecy of God sending strong delusion and realize that there is going to be a deception so strong in these end times that people will be completely convinced that they are doing God's will, when in fact they are doing what they wanted. He lets them have their way, and he lets them have a royal time of it, to bring the full weight of their folly to a conclusion so sharp that no one will be able to miss it in retrospect. The folly of our generation is going to be so pronounced that it will enable the world to live in peace for 1000 years. That is quite an object lesson!

So ironically, while our prime motivation is to seek the assistance of God in inspiring a pure form of government, our biggest obstacle is God's edict that he will send strong delusion. God is predisposing people's hearts against what we are doing while also inspiring us to proceed step by step.

When we are done, we will have been through such a refining fire.

This is not going to be a popular movement. Not right now.

But when God's purposes are served, and men have seen their folly and come before God with a broken heart and contrite spirit, he will point them to what we have done by his grace and will say, "There is your answer;" and suddenly what we have done against such great odds will become the law of the land that will enable a thousand years of peace.

It wont come over night, but it will seem like it. A nation will be born in a day.

It is not going to be something that God comes and imposes on mankind. It will be something that he has implanted in the hearts of a few, who have borne through terrible trials to bring it to fruition. It will be something we have chosen to accept.

To think otherwise is like playing a football game with just a defensive strategy, and then hoping that Dad will come out of the bleachers an run the ball for a touchdown when its time for an offensive play.  This isn't Dad's game it's ours.  Dad's in the bleachers cheering, but we are the ones doing the plays.

So as you go forth and try and share these things with people who you think ought to see it like you do, don't be disheartened by the lack of enthusiasm that is returned. God has purposely set us on an uphill battle, the likes of which the world has never seen.

We as a people have bought into the socialist lie so thoroughly that it is going to take an extended, mighty exertion of faith to overcome our addiction as a people to Satan's government.

We all know we should take care of one another voluntarily, but socialism has become the answer to which people rely.

Part of the purpose of the tribulations to come will be to place people into a context where they have to rely on one another and not the government in order to survive. They are going to learn what a joy it is to share their means with one another. If they would learn that lesson without the tribulations, the tribulations would not come. God much prefers that we learn by precept rather than by sad experience. But when sad experience is the only way left to teach us, he will teach us by sad experience.

Meanwhile, what you and I are attempting to do is not going to go over well with even some of the most valiant proponents of freedom.

The same is going to hold true in trying to establish local patriot saints branches. The numbers are going to be very small, probably too small to even be practical.

Yet we must forge ahead with patience and faith in God and faith in the goodness of what we are seeking to accomplish. What we are doing now will be a major contributing factor to the reign of peace that is coming. So don't give up. Don't loose heart. Be glad when one person shows up to the meeting you hold, though you may have invited two dozen people who you think would embrace this.

In my case, we invited around 57 people to our first introductory meeting this past Sunday, and two people showed up, one of whom is the other member of RSICC from this area. Because I had this understanding, the paltry show did not discourage me. I was expecting it, and I will continue to expect it so long as the strong delusion is in place.

Meanwhile, I am extremely grateful to the few of you who have chosen to roll up your sleeves and help make this happen.

Most likely, we are not the only ones seeking to do something along these lines. And as we continue, God will bring us together with others, to bolster one another and to benefit from the truths we each have learned.

But we must not expect that our trek will be easy, for it will not. We are pioneers of one of the greatest societal steps forward in the history of this planet. As pioneers, our task is to discover and develop a means through the wilderness that many millions will follow.

Our task is to set forth an ideal system of government that will become the prevailing government in the not too distant future, when truth and justice and mercy and charity and individual responsibility and free-will societal cooperation are the ruling principles.

May we be faithful to this injunction though the path seems nigh unto impossible.

It is possible, for God is on our side, notwithstanding the strong delusion he is pouring out on the land. His purpose is not to destroy us, but to teach us the folly of our ways so we can finally do things His way.

Being humble will not be a problem at this point, for popularity will evade us. Not getting depressed will be the greatest burden we will bear. Nearly every turn will be faced with a lack of enthusiasm. The drive must come from a solid determination and choice from the bottom of our very souls, that we desire to do what is right notwithstanding its lack of acceptance in the world today.

It really is a matter of choice. And fittingly so, for the right to choose is the very foremost principle that ideal government should protect and foster. And that is precisely why God is not going to come and just impose his government on us when things fall apart in this world. His government is about the right to choose. And we must choose his government. And that choice must be so powerful that nothing can stop it.

Sincerely,

Sterling D. Allan
